Why VistaPrint?
Save time and get bright results with round or rectangular self-inking stamps and more.
Looking to streamline your day-to-day tasks? Self-inking and pre-inked rubber stamps make it quick and easy to sign documents, mark invoices or add return addresses, with no ink pad required. Our stamps are made for uncoated or non-glossy paper and cardboard, meeting most mailing, packaging and correspondence needs. Precise and durable, they deliver thousands of crisp, bold impressions before you need to refill. And when that time does come, we’ve got you covered with compatible replacement ink.
Wondering what stamps are right for you? With VistaPrint, you get a full range of custom self-inking stamps for business and personal use, including address stamps, logo stamps, loyalty card stamps and more. We also offer pre-inked stamps, which are best for fine logos, artwork and packaging or bulk mail jobs where crispness matters. All stamps use a rubber printing surface to keep text and logos crisp, avoiding a filled-in or blurred result. We recommend a minimum font size equivalent to 8-10pt and a minimum line weight of 0.3-0.4 mm. Thinner lines or smaller text can lose detail once inked, especially on repeated use.
When you're ready to design, start by choosing your stamp type, size and ink color, then either upload your own logo or artwork or choose from our gallery of professional templates. Our design tool lets you adjust text, fonts and layout, flags common sizing issues as you build, and lets you preview exactly how your stamp will look before you order – so there are no surprises when it arrives. With decades of printing experience, we make it simple to create stamps that look sharp and work hard. Your order arrives ready to use, and when it runs low, just swap in a refill. Need help? Yes, while you’re finalizing your custom rubber stamp design (whether you uploaded a design or used a template), you’ll see an option to preview the mark the stamp will leave. You can view this online or download a PDF proof.
First, don’t worry – it’s very easy to miss small details when proofing. To be sure the information is corrected, we recommend reaching out to our customer service team. They can help you make sure your custom stamp looks just the way you want.
A custom rubber stamp uses ink to leave a mark on the surface of paper. An embosser presses a design into the paper, changing its texture and feel.
We offer a wide range of custom self-inking and pre-inked stamps, in small, medium, and large sizes. Small and medium sizes work well for return addresses and signatures. Medium sizes are a solid choice for check endorsements, where a compact, legible impression matters. Larger stamps are better suited to packaging boxes and bulk mail, where you need a bigger, bolder impression. Whatever the size, we recommend keeping text at 8-10pt or larger to avoid fill-in and blurring. Pre-inked stamps are ideal for crisp artwork and logos, or bigger jobs like packaging and bulk mail.
There are a couple of ways to design your stamp, but you’ll more or less follow these steps:
- Depending on your stamp type, you’ll start by selecting things like color, quantity and size. Our small and medium sizes work great for addresses and check endorsements, while larger stamps are ideal for packaging and promotional items.
- Then, you can upload your own design, or choose from our gallery of templates and add your custom artwork from there.
- Once in our Studio design tool, you can add text, upload a logo or signature, adjust fonts and preview your layout before you order – so you know exactly what you're getting.
Note: For best results, upload a vector file (like .ai or .eps) or a raster image (like .jpg or .png) at 300 dpi or higher. Avoid dark or busy backgrounds behind your logo, and leave enough negative space around dense artwork or QR codes so they stay legible once stamped. We accept the following formats: .jpg, .jpeg, .jfif, .bmp, .png, .gif, .heic, .pdf, .psd, .ai, .eps, .ait, .ppt, .pptx, .tif, .tiff
Custom stamps work best on porous, uncoated paper and cardboard – think standard printer paper, cardstock or kraft-style packaging. Our stamps aren't recommended for wood, plastic or outdoor use, especially where they'll be exposed to water. Standard water-based inks won't dry properly on glossy retail bags, coated cardboard or plastic, and will smear on contact.
Before first use, gently wipe the die's edges to remove any excess ink from manufacturing – this helps prevent faint "halo" marks around your design. For the cleanest impression, stamp on a flat, firm surface and apply even, moderate pressure without rocking the stamp side to side.
Most stamps deliver thousands of impressions before you'll need to re-ink. When it's time for a refresh, you don't need a new stamp – just a replacement ink pad or ink bottle, depending on your stamp type.
Pre-inked stamps have the detailed image or impression in the ink well, while self-inking stamps transfer ink from inner pad to the impression.
We offer standard delivery on all custom stamps, plus 2-day rush delivery for self-inking stamps if you need your order faster. Delivery times and rush availability vary by stamp type and quantity – you'll see specific options and estimated arrival dates at checkout.
No, our custom stamps and the ink used in them are not skin-safe and should not be used on skin or on clothing that might come into contact with skin.
